William (Bill) J. Schreier

1926 – June 21, 2005

Bill Schreier served 25 years in the Marine Corps, taught math and science at Blue Ridge Community College, and was a well-known co-founder of the Western North Carolina Air Museum.

One of the three original founding members of the WNCAM, Bill Schreier was president during the time the museum’s first building was funded and constructed in 1992 & 1993.

Bill was one of the three aviators who restored the bright yellow Stearman biplane that started the museum many years ago and has been on the front of the museum brochure for many years. He remained on the Board of Directors and was a docent up until the time of his accident,
